They stocked everything I wanted, were kind & helpful with advice, & I will absolutely be a repeat customer. Good job!

Jaycar does need to do training with all of its staff. Doesn’t seem to matter which store I visit, the staff are not great.
  • Tyler

Why? Because he never took the time to find out.

Did he know the urgency of my plight? No

I arrived right on 5:30pm - exhausted, in a massive hurry, and desperately needing a Torx T6 Screwdriver to urgently remove some stupid why-for-you-do-that-Apple brackets stuck to the side of a HDD I'd just pulled from a MacBook, so that I could fit it in a caddy and recover the client's data they needed by the next morning.

I really don't like to write negative reviews ("If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" and such), but this really annoyed me.

So... in short - my review on Jaycar is that the sales people at the Bunnings just around the corner are much more helpful, haha.

It was insulting - and kinda a dickish way of handling the situation.

The most likely spot to find what peripherals and goodies that you need quickly. They seem better stocked than other franchisees. The Digitech product line may not be the best of breed, but it usually does the job. Staff here are always helpful.

In the customer service industry, there are moments of "potential awesomeness" that present themselves - situations where if you go the extra mile, you're a hero.. but if you don't, you look like an ass. Sadly, today, the lesser path here was chosen by Jaycar.

Did the guy behind the counter know this convoluted situation? No

Instead, it turns out he had closed up early that afternoon, and rather than actually coming over to the door when I knocked, he simply (and rather arrogantly) "swatted" me away like a fly with hand gestures from his comfy little perch behind the counter.

I came home (seriously cheesed-off by this stage), did some Googling and found that I could grab the same thing from Bunnings, so I ducked down there instead. It cost me a few extra dollars, but the lady at Bunnings was super helpful and even tracked down an already opened set of Torx screwdrivers so I could check they would actually fit the screws I was trying to remove. Granted, with the screws removed I didn't technically need the screwdriver anymore, but there was no way I was walking outa that shop without buying something after she'd been so helpful, so I bought them anyway.

I understand the staff need to be a bit techie, but training would assist the techieness.

I have met great staff, but they don’t seem to stay.
